Artist’s Statement: “Dance” celebrates the heartbeat of Sierra Leone’s heritage, the rhythm, unity, and stories once told through movement.  Across generations, dance marked our beginnings, our triumphs and our grief.  Yet, in today’s modern age, many of these traditions are fading into silence.

This piece is a reminder of who we are – a tribute to the joy, strength and spirit that once defined our communities.  Through the movement of the dance and the echo of the drums, may we remember to keep our culture alive and let our roots continue to dance through time.
