Our Mission
Saving Lives With Safe Water
Water is Life was created in 2008 with one mission in mind: to bring the power of community together and save lives with safe water. Organized by the Fishers, IN & Freetown, Sierra Leone Rotary Clubs and supported by donors like you, we build wells to provide clean water for people in Sierra Leone.
Together, by the end of 2023, we will have built more than 180 wells serving over 400,000 people — and our work isn’t done. Our goal is to build 1,000 wells by 2025. Safe water means health. It means hope. It means life.
When you support Water is Life, children can go to school, parents can work and care for their families, and people won’t lose their loved ones to preventable waterborne diseases.

Fostering A Spirit Of Generosity In Communities Around The Globe
The Rotary Club of Fishers, Indiana, was chartered in 1992. Since then, it has been a significant philanthropic force in our community and internationally, and is working diligently to expand this legacy.
Each Rotary Club is intended to reflect the makeup of its community, and this is certainly true of the Fishers Rotary Club. Business and community leaders in and around Fishers are active members, enabling it and them to fulfill Rotary’s mission to do good in the world.

The Need For Safe Water Is About So Much More Than Statistics
Each well we build means health, hope, and a future for hundreds of people and their families. 100% of our wells are still operational and delivering clean water 365 days a year.
